Job summary

Mills & Reeve LLP is seeking a Principal Associate (8+ PQE) to join its Legal 500 Tier 1 Professional Indemnity team based primarily in London, with hybrid options including Leeds, Birmingham or Norwich. The role focuses on defending construction professionals on PI claims for insurers, MGAs, and Lloyd's syndicates within a national Insurance Disputes practice.

Qualifications

• 8+ years PQE
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex and high-value professional indemnity claims
• Exceptional communication skills, coupled with strong commercial acumen
• Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills, including ability to work with others, influence and persuade
• Enthusiasm for helping others to grow and develop and supervising work of other fee earners
• Effective time and matter management
• Ability to work independently and within a wider team
• Self-starting with initiative and adaptability
• Strong client relationship and client management skills

Responsibilities

• Defend construction professionals on professional indemnity claims.
• Advise insurers on construction coverage matters and related disputes.
• Work with Partners within the Insurance Disputes team to deliver client service.
