Job summary

Mills & Reeve is seeking a Senior or Principal Associate to join its Construction Insurance team. The role targets professionals with 6+ years PQE, advising insurers on construction coverage, and will sit within the firm’s national Insurance Disputes practice.

Do you have have solid experience advising insurers on construction coverage?

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Associate (generally 6 years PQE or above) to join our Legal 500: Tier 1 defendant professional indemnity team on a permanent basis. The role will sit in the growing Construction Insurance team, working with Neil Frankland, Partner and other partners within the firm's wider Construction Insurance regional teams. The team is part of the firm's national Insurance Disputes team, which is headed up by Niall Innes.

We are willing to consider applicants who are based in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester or Norwich and who can work from one of those offices in accordance with our hybrid working policy.

The person

You will have a strong background in professional indemnity and/or commercial litigation work with a passion for the law and for delivering outstanding client service. You will have gained your experience in private practice (preferably at a large regional or City Law firm) or, alternatively, in-house with a major insurer or MGA. You should have solid experience advising insurers on construction coverage.

The activities

The role is construction focused. You will be acting for various construction professionals including architects, engineers, contractors and specialist consultants. Clients are located nationally, with work referred at their nomination or directly by insurers, most of which are located close to our London office but with developed regionally based teams.

The firm's client base includes an enviable list of major insurers, MGAs and Lloyds syndicates.
