Job summary

Margetts Fund Management seeks an experienced PHP/Laravel Developer to join its in-house team in Birmingham, contributing to a greenfield application using Laravel, Inertia.js and Vue.js, while maintaining and evolving an established Laravel web app.

You will work with QA, business analysts and stakeholders across the delivery lifecycle, write secure, well-tested code, review changes and help improve engineering standards and practices.

Qualifications

• Experience building web apps with PHP/Laravel.
• Hands-on Vue.js; Inertia.js is a plus.
• Strong OOP, MVC and design patterns.
• SQL/MySQL experience and data modelling.
• JavaScript/HTML/CSS proficiency.
• Experience consuming and securing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with enterprise identity providers (SSO/OIDC/SAML).
• Git version-control and code reviews.
• Ability to write automated tests (PHPUnit/Pest).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver maintainable features for a greenfield Laravel app.
• Support and enhance an existing Laravel app, fix defects, reduce technical debt.
• Develop responsive, accessible interfaces for internal and external users.
• Design and integrate APIs between internal systems and databases.
• Write clean, secure, well-tested code per standards.
• Investigate production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Participate in design, estimation, code reviews, testing and releases.
• Maintain concise technical documentation.
• Collaborate with QA, business analysts and stakeholders.
