Job summary

Clerkenwell Health is seeking a (Senior) Pharmacy Technician to join our Doncaster team and support clinical trial pharmacy services across Phase 1–3 studies. You will work with our Clinical and Pharmacy teams delivering patient-focused care in a research setting.

The role requires GPhC registration, CPD commitment, and GCP training. You will dispense or check IMPs, monitor temperatures, and help maintain trial documentation while collaborating with a forward-thinking CNS/psychedelic research

Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in PharmacyTechnician training or equivalent.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is mandatory.
  • Continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain fitness to practice.
  • GCP training and compliance with trial regulations are required.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate efficient pharmacy service delivery for clinical trial patients.
  • Dispense or verify clinically trialed IMPs with proper accountability.
  • Monitor temperatures of IMPs and record fridge/ambient temps daily.
  • Support Lead CT Pharmacist in aligning services with regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain essential trial documentation per protocol and guidelines.
  • Provide GCP training, participate in Site Initiation and Monitoring Visits, be a point of contact.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our commercial team and work directly with our Clinical and Pharmacy team with genuine responsibility and career progression.

The role

Work alongside experienced staff at research sites focusing on delivering high quality patient care within Phase 1, 2 and 3 Clinical Trials. You will provide support in the timely delivery of clinical studies to acceptable medical standards, in line with the requirements of Sponsors, ICH-GCP and other appropriate guidelines and regulations.

Key responsibilities
  • To facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective Pharmacy service for Clinical Trial patients and ensure pharmacy staff are trained specifically for each trial in accordance with GCP.
  • To dispense (or check where appropriate) Clinical Trials involving an IMP following procedures and recording accountability for these as necessary.
  • To manage the temperature monitoring of all IMPs in Pharmacy or other areas as appropriate by recording daily fridge and ambient temperatures.
  • To support the Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacist in streamlining Pharmacy Services across Clerkenwell Health and ensure compliance to The Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations/ EU Clinical Trials Directive and subsequent amendments.
  • To ensure that all essential pharmacy trial documentation is maintained in accordance with the protocol and local guidelines.
  • To provide GCP training, attend Site Initiation Visits, facilitate Monitoring Visits and be a Pharmacy representative as a point of contact for all Clinical Trials enquiries.
What we’re looking for
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (pre 2022) or equivalent Or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians (post 2022)
  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.
  • GCP training.
  • Right to work in the UK.
