Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, Patient Services (SATO), Band 3, permanent full-time. The post is based in the Dispensary with duties including dispensing, reception, and ward top-up tasks at Cheltenham General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Good level of literacy and numeracy.
• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical services.
• Proven picking/dispensing accuracy.
• Final Accuracy Checking Qualification or willingness to work towards qualification.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing for in-patients, out-patients and patients going home according to SOP.
• Handing out completed outpatient prescriptions to patients or representatives.
• Coordinate supply of items owed to patients and ensure dispensed items and onward transport.
• Dispensing controlled drugs according to SOP.
• Perform final accuracy checks of dispensed items.
• Stock top-up and maintenance in the dispensary.
• Assist at staff and patient reception areas and handle routine enquiries.
• Work with stores/distribution to top up wards and manage stock.
