University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join the Aseptic Services team at Poole Hospital. The role is Band 3, with options for full-time, part-time, or job share, totaling 37.5 hours per week from 8:30am to 5pm.

The post is permanent with a salary of £25,760–£27,476 per annum pro rata. You will support aseptic manufacture of cytotoxic agents, assist with stock management, monitor clean room temperatures, and maintain high cleanliness standards

Qualifications

  • GCSEs including Maths, English and Science at grade C/4 or above
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)
  • Previous Pharmacy experience

Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, motivated individuals who would like to work in the aseptic unit of the hospital pharmacy, we prepare the cancer patient chemotherapy.

Applicant would need least 4 GCSEs including Maths, English and Science at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent.

The successful candidate must have good organisational and interpersonal skills, be a team player, able to work individually whilst knowing their own limitations, who is comfortable working for a small team within a large department and able to demonstrate that they are committed to a career in Pharmacy.

This post requires participation in the late/earlies, weekend and bank holiday rota.

Main duties of the job

To support professional and technical staff in the aseptic manufacture of cytotoxic agents and to ensure provision of an efficient Pharmacy service, including good housekeeping and general administration duties. All duties are supervised by qualified staff.

  • To monitor temperatures within the aseptic unit clean rooms.
  • To undertake stock management.
  • To ensure high standards of cleanliness are met.
