Main duties of the job
The post is as a full-time Year 6/7 SpR in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at KCH NHS Foundation Trust, offering an excellent opportunity to enhance surgical skills in Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology. Responsibilities include managing Gynaecological cancer patients through MDT participation and ward/outpatient management. The rota is designed to maximize training time with the Gynaecological Oncology team, with encouragement to pursue ATSMs relevant to the role, including vulval disease and ambulatory gynaecology. The post also involves conducting audits and research.
Working for our organisation
The department is busy, offering a full range of services across two sites: Denmark Hill (DH) and Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH). The DH site provides tertiary referral services and has dedicated gynaecology beds, theatres, and a day surgery unit. The PRUH handles local obstetric and gynaecology care with complex referrals. Services include inpatient care, outpatient clinics, early pregnancy services, and specialized clinics in oncology, colposcopy, urodynamics, infertility, and menopause. The department maintains strong links with local GPs and provides emergency and elective services at both sites.
