Job summary

Practice Plus Group Hospital is seeking a Senior Pharmacist to lead clinical pharmacy services across orthopaedics, ophthalmology, general surgery and endoscopy. The role covers outpatients, day surgery, inpatient wards and theatres, with leadership duties supervising junior staff.

The post is 22.5 hours per week, permanent, with responsibilities including contributing to service development and governance, and supporting day-to-day management of the pharmacy service.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in pharmacy.
• Current GPhC registration.
• Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience in hospital or community pharmacy.
• Experience working with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Knowledge of clinical governance and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services across orthopaedics, ophthalmology, general surgery and endoscopy.
• Provide pharmacy support in outpatients, the day surgery unit, the inpatient ward and operating theatres.
• Provide guidance, supervision and mentorship to junior pharmacists, technicians and support staff.
• Support the Head of Department or Site Lead Pharmacist in day-to-day management of the pharmacy service.
• Contribute to service development, clinical governance and quality improvement.
• Assist with operational decision-making, workflow planning and compliance with regulatory standards.
