Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a highly motivated pharmacist to provide professional and operational leadership to the expanding Pharmacy Technical Services team. You will oversee aseptic unit delivery and clinical trials, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care.

The role emphasizes leading a growing workforce, driving improvements, and delivering complex medicines to patients across hospital sites.

Qualifications

Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and eligible to practise in NHS Wales.
Postgraduate qualification in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance.
Significant post-qualification hospital pharmacy experience.
CPD and leadership development demonstrated throughout career.
Willingness to travel between sites within the health board.

Responsibilities

Act as the Accountable Pharmacist for the Aseptic Unit ensuring regulatory compliance.
Oversee operational delivery of Pharmacy Technical Services and clinical trials.
Lead and develop the Pharmacy Technical Services workforce and culture.
Maintain robust pharmaceutical quality systems including CAPA and audits.
Plan and develop clinical trials services and management of IMPs.
Provide specialised advice on aseptic services, SACT, trials, and technical services.
Lead service planning, capacity management and strategic development.
