Job summary

EsterPET, part of the Biffa Group, is seeking a seasoned General Manager to run the Seaham PET recycling site. You will own the site's safety, profitability, and performance, directing the management team and delivering the business plan.

The role requires deep knowledge of PET recycling, feedstock quality, and regulatory compliance, with responsibility for budgets, KPIs, and continuous improvement. Occasional travel to Sherburn and close collaboration with Commercial, Finance and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior management experience in PET recycling or related manufacturing.
• Proven ability to manage P&L, budgeting and strategic business planning.
• Strong understanding of feedstock quality, PRNs/PERNs, and waste legislation.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for safe, compliant and profitable site operation and delivered targets.
• Lead and develop the site management team with a culture of ownership and high performance.
• Manage key profitability drivers including feedstock cost, PRN value, yield and throughput.
• Drive PET recycling process performance and product quality across the site.
• Ensure maintenance, asset reliability and capital investment plans are in place.
• Report operational and financial performance to the Board and senior leaders.
