Job summary

You will review junior work, provide technical guidance, and identify opportunities for advisory support beyond compliance. Strong client relationships and up-to-date tax knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• CTA or ATT qualified with at least 5 years' personal tax experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of personal tax compliance and returns.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and long-term relationships.
• Up-to-date understanding of tax legislation and compliance changes.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; CCH and AI-enabled tax tools advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal tax compliance obligations are met by deadlines across your portfolio.
• Review and manage personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients and handle enquiries.
• Keep abreast of legislative developments and share updates with clients.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services.
• Support senior management with ad hoc advisory projects.
• Oversee workload of junior team members and provide feedback.
• Coach and develop junior colleagues’ technical skills.
• Review work to identify risks and opportunities.
• Seek opportunities to generate additional advisory work from existing clients.
• Contribute positively to the team and maintain high service standards.
• Use reference materials to support decision-making and team knowledge.
• Monitor time and profitability across client portfolio.
