Job summary

Clark Wood is partnering with a leading independent accountancy firm in Aldridge, Walsall, to appoint an experienced Senior Personal Tax Advisor. You will manage your own portfolio of personal tax clients, preparing Self Assessment returns and advising on tax planning opportunities.

You will work closely with the Tax Manager and wider team, handling client relationships, dealing with HMRC, and progressing private client matters including trusts, estates and IHT.

Qualifications

• Strong personal tax experience with client facing responsibilities.
• Good technical knowledge and ability to build client relationships.
• Ability to identify tax planning opportunities and advise clients.

Responsibilities

Clark Wood is delighted to be working with a highly regarded independent accountancy firm in Aldridge, Walsall, as they look to appoint an experienced Personal Tax Senior / Advisor to join their established tax team.

This is a role for someone who enjoys working with clients, taking ownership and giving advice — rather than simply processing tax returns.

You’ll manage your own portfolio of personal tax clients, preparing and reviewing Self Assessment returns, dealing directly with clients and HMRC, and identifying tax planning opportunities along the way. You’ll also work closely with the Tax Manager and wider team, supporting more complex private client matters including trusts, estates and IHT.

We’re looking for someone with strong personal tax experience, good technical knowledge and, just as importantly, the personality and confidence to build strong client relationships and take responsibility for their portfolio.

ATT would be attractive, but isn’t essential. The firm is very open to someone who is qualified by experience, provided they have the right level of technical ability and client ownership.

There is also genuine scope for further development, with CTA study and career progression available for the right person.
