Job summary

Nottingham City Council's Leaving Care Service is seeking a Senior Personal Advisor (Grade H) to provide high-quality, person-centred support to care-experienced young people as they transition to adulthood.

You will manage a complex caseload, mentor Personal Advisors, contribute to quality assurance, and work with housing, health, education, social care and the voluntary sector to secure positive outcomes.

Are you passionate about supporting care-experienced young people to achieve their potential and thrive in adulthood? We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Senior Personal Advisor to join our Leaving Care Service.

In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people leaving care, helping them navigate the challenges of independent living, education, employment, training, health, and accommodation. Alongside managing a complex caseload, you will play a key leadership role within the service by providing mentoring and professional guidance to Personal Advisors, supporting quality assurance, and promoting excellent practice.

Working collaboratively with partners across housing, health, education, social care, and the voluntary sector, you will advocate for young people and ensure they receive the support and opportunities they need to achieve positive outcomes.

We are looking for someone with significant experience of working with care-experienced young people, strong knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding responsibilities, and the ability to build positive relationships that make a lasting difference. You will be passionate about improving outcomes for young people, committed to high standards of practice, and confident in supporting colleagues to deliver excellent services.
