Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is recruiting a Senior Design Engineer for Permanent Way in London (Canary Wharf preferred; Derby considered). The role is a 12-month contract with a rate of £50 per hour and Inside IR35.

You will develop and deliver Permanent Way designs from feasibility through detailed design, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients. The ideal candidate has substantial Permanent Way and track design experience, the ability to lead small teams, and working

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Permanent Way design and track design.
• Ability to develop detailed designs from feasibility to detailed design.
• Experience leading small design teams and managing workload.
• Knowledge of UK rail safety legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed Permanent Way designs for rail upgrade, renewal and enhancement projects.
• Produce designs for plain line, S&C renewals, track lowering, platform extensions and speed improvements.
• Perform gauging, clearance analysis and produce supporting calculations and reports.
• Prepare design documentation, designer's risk assessments and ensure hazard controls.
• Review peers' work and oversee technical aspects of track design where required.
• Deliver design packages to quality, programme and budget targets.
• Attend interdisciplinary design reviews and liaise with clients and contractors.
• Mentor junior team members and support knowledge transfer.
