Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking a Pensions Manager - Investments to lead the oversight of investment performance, risk, and governance for the Gloucestershire Pension Fund. You will translate complex investment issues into clear recommendations for senior officers, the Pension Committee and Local Pension Board.

Based in Shire Hall, the role involves managing relationships with LGPS Central and advisers, developing the investment team, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of institutional investment and governance.
• Experience analysing and challenging investment strategy, performance and risk.
• Understanding of responsible investment and stewardship.
• Able to provide clear, authoritative advice and challenge to senior stakeholders.
• Analytical, communication and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate to diverse audiences.
• Ability to lead and develop colleagues in investment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Fund’s oversight of investment performance and risk, aligning with strategic objectives.
• Oversee relationship with LGPS Central and provide client-side oversight and challenge.
• Translate complex investment issues into clear recommendations for the Pension Committee.
• Develop and lead the investment team and collaborate with funding, finance, governance and administration.
