Job summary

Howden in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Pension Administrator to join our growing team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is based in Bristol, Cheltenham, Birmingham, or Glasgow with hybrid working.

You will handle complex benefit calculations, verify scheme rules, liaise with DWP, HMRC and the Pensions Regulator, and support pension payrolls, drawing on deep DB and DC knowledge and a proactive governance mindset.

Qualifications

• In depth knowledge of both DB and DC occupational pension schemes.
• Progress towards a pensions-related qualification is advantageous; PMI qualifications are a plus.
• Experience in Financial Services or DC/DB pension administration is required.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly understands the trust deed and rules for each scheme.
• Carries out complex benefit calculations and handles complex pension queries.
• Checks work for accuracy against scheme rules, procedures and legislation.
• Checks pensioner payrolls, calculates net pay, arranges payments and year-end returns.
• Liaises with authorities (DWP, HMRC, Pensions Regulator, ICO).
• Monitors scheme cashflow and arranges investments/disinvestments as required.
