Shaftesbury Education is seeking a Senior PE Teaching Assistant to support delivery of an inclusive Physical Education curriculum across the school, including swimming and hydrotherapy, under the PE Teacher’s guidance.

You will help plan, assess and monitor student progress, support therapy programmes and contribute to extra-curricular activities, while upholding safeguarding and promoting independence and wellbeing for learners.

Formación

• Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.
• Minimum 12 months’ experience in a PE or SEND environment.
• Understanding of PE curriculum and assessment approaches.
• Knowledge of supporting students with complex needs and personal care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Ability to motivate, engage and support learners effectively.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver PE learning activities for individuals, groups, and occasionally whole classes
• Support planning, assessment, and recording of student progress
• Assist with swimming, hydrotherapy, and therapy-led interventions
• Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour in all activities
• Prepare, organise, and maintain PE equipment and learning environments
• Support extra-curricular provision including clubs, trips, and enrichment
• Contribute to a safe, well-managed and purposeful learning environment
