Job summary

THG Recruitment in London is seeking a Senior Payroll Assistant to join a well-established construction business. You will support the Payroll Manager with accurate weekly and monthly payroll delivery and ensure timeliness.

The ideal candidate will have strong Sage Payroll experience, solid CIS and PAYE knowledge, and experience in high-volume payroll within the construction sector. Proficiency in Excel and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience processing weekly and monthly payrolls.
• Strong Sage Payroll experience.
• Good knowledge of CIS, PAYE, National Insurance and statutory deductions.
• Experience managing payroll within the construction industry is desirable.
• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage high-volume payroll and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and efficiently.
• Manage payroll for PAYE employees, CIS subcontractors and agency labour.
• Process timesheets, overtime, bonuses, deductions, starters and leavers.
• Maintain accurate payroll records using Sage Payroll and Sage HR.
• Manage PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments.
• Process CIS deductions, verifications and monthly returns.
• Check and reconcile agency timesheets, invoices and payments.
• Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees, site managers and HR.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and payroll deadlines.
