Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment seeks an experienced Specialist Payroll Officer to join a local authority HR Operations team in Weybridge. This hybrid role handles complex payroll processes, queries and ensures accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.

You will work with the payroll team, HR colleagues and employees, providing expert advice, performing audits and reconciliations, and staying up to date with payroll legislation.

Qualifications

• Extensive payroll experience in a specialist/ senior role.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation and compliance.
• Experience handling complex payroll queries and discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve complex payroll queries and discrepancies.
• Carry out payroll audits, checks and reconciliations.
• Provide expert advice to employees and managers.
• Explain payroll matters clearly in plain English.
• Maintain knowledge of payroll legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Use payroll systems to process, review and analyse information.
• Produce and analyse payroll reports and MI.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes.
• Collaborate with teams to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Share knowledge and train payroll colleagues.
• Take ownership of specialist payroll processes and deputise for Hub Leader.
