The Role

The Payroll Specialist leads continuous improvement projects to drive efficiency and accuracy. This role is responsible for the end-to-end processing of multi-country payroll across Europe, ensuring strict legal compliance, and is tasked with delivering exceptional customer service to all employees and internal stakeholders.

What You'll Do
  • Manage and execute the end-to-end payroll process for several European countries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all pay cycles (on-cycle and off-cycle)
  • Apply a strong analytical aptitude to audit and validate complex payroll data against source files, ensuring complete accuracy and compliance before final approval
  • Utilize proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions (formulas and data analysis) to reconcile payroll inputs and troubleshoot discrepancies
  • Lead and actively participate in payroll system projects (e.g., implementations, migrations, upgrades), ensuring strict adherence to project timelines and deliverables
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive workflow documentation, conduct rigorous system testing, and successfully implement new processes and changes to optimize the payroll function
  • Drive the operational excellence initiative, ensuring successful execution and regional adoption to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Consistently deliver brilliant customer service by acting as the primary point of contact for complex payroll, tax, and benefits inquiries, ensuring prompt resolution and clear communication
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, and Employee Success) and external service providers to deliver expert advisory support on complex compliance and payroll matters, ensuring data accuracy and proper employee classification
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EU payroll tax regulations and compliance standards
Requirements
  • 4+ years of progressive professional experience processing payroll in a fast-paced, multi-national environment, with a proven track record handling multiple countries within the EU
  • Must have established experience leading or actively participating in complex payroll system projects, e.g. implementation of payroll vendors
  • Proven capability to drive operational excellence initiatives ensuring successful execution and adoption across a regional team
  • Strong knowledge of EU payroll tax regulations, social contributions, and statutory compliance requirements
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic business environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with advanced Microsoft Excel functions
