Job summary

Autograph Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice in Torbay, focusing on accounts and payroll. You will manage payrolls, bookkeeping and general accounts work, delivering accurate processing and timely reporting.

The role suits someone with payroll experience in an accountancy setting, strong BrightPay knowledge, and a proactive, collaborative approach. Flexible, supportive environment and competitive salary up to £30,000 FTE.

Qualifications

• Payroll experience in an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
• Good bookkeeping and general accounts experience.
• Strong knowledge of BrightPay.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proactive and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls.
• Managing new starters, leavers, statutory payments, pensions and auto-enrolment.
• Submitting FPS, EPS and other HMRC payroll submissions.
• Responding to payroll-related client queries.
• Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation.
• Client bookkeeping and maintaining financial records.
• Bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping duties.
• Supporting with accounts preparation and other general practice work.
• Building strong, long-term client relationships.
