Senior Fintech Payments Consultant

Location: London

Duration: 12 months with likely extension

Working model: Hybrid. 3 days per week on site

It is essential that you have 4+ years Payments/Fintech experience.

You must have a proven track record in business growth, strategic planning, and executive communication.

About the Role:

A leading online travel and payment solutions company is seeking an experienced Payments Strategy Consultant to join their FinTech Commercial team. The role requires a consultant who is able to provide strategic guidance on market positioning, growth strategies, and commercial development.

You will take ownership of the end-to-end commercial design and delivery of payout solutions.

You will focus on designing, developing, and delivering innovative payout solutions to the company’s properties (hotels, homes, etc.), maximising incremental revenue and driving P&L - positive impact for the FinTech department.

This is not an implementation role. This role is a high-level advisory and business development position focused on analysing market trends, identifying revenue opportunities, and shaping the go-to-market strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Design and Execution of Strategic Payment Solutions. Take ownership of the end-to-end commercial design and delivery of payout solutions (e.g. Bank Transfers, VCC, Push to Card).
  • Shape Business Strategy and Drive Revenue Growth Develop and execute revenue growth strategies and long-term plans for payout solutions.
  • Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration to Drive Innovation. Collaborate with internal teams (product, tech, legal, finance, etc.) and external partners to ensure smooth integration of payout solutions across multiple platforms.
  • Deliver High-Impact Executive Communication. Craft clear, actionable executive summaries and compelling business cases to influence key leadership decisions.
  • Lead Change and Drive Results Across Global Markets. Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, guiding decisions on global payment solutions and identifying opportunities for operational improvement.

What You Bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in Payments/FinTech, with deep expertise in the full payment lifecycle and a focus on payout solutions (Bank Transfer, VCC, Push to Card, etc.).
  • 8+ years of experience across Strategy, Commercial Partnerships and Business Growth - ideally within FinTech or adjacent tech sectors.
  • Proven track record in business development, designing revenue-generating payout solutions, ideally within the Online Travel Agency/hotel space.
  • Strong business strategy and planning expertise, including the ability to develop actionable business cases, growth strategies, and long-term plans.
  • Hold an MBA and/or prior experience in consulting or strategic roles a strong plus - experience shaping high-level business strategy and optimising revenue models across large organisations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strategic mindset, with the ability to assess opportunities and challenges across diverse regions and customer segments.
  • Executive communication expertise - ability to distil complex financial and technical concepts into concise, engaging updates for senior leadership.
  • Master of storytelling, able to create impactful presentations that articulate business strategies and drive decision-making.
  • A collaborative, cross-functional leader, skilled at influencing and aligning diverse teams (legal, finance, tech, product) toward a shared vision.
  • An understanding of payment compliance & regulations (KYC, AML, PSD2) in global markets.
  • Strong vendor management experience, including negotiation, RFP management, and collaboration across cross-functional teams (product, tech, legal, finance).
