Job summary

Newcastle University is seeking a Business and Innovation Senior Partner to join Newcastle Innovations, shaping and delivering innovation and engagement activity at the interface of academia, industry and policy. You will translate research into real‑world outcomes, build high‑value partnerships, and drive income growth in a large, dynamic ecosystem.

Working closely with university leadership, you will design pipelines of investible opportunities, lead complex bids aligned with UKRI and Horizon

Qualifications

Proven track record in business development or knowledge exchange.
Deep understanding of UK innovation funding landscape.
Experience building strategic partnerships and managing complex projects.
Ability to translate ideas into funded, deliverable opportunities.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary relationship lead between the Faculty of Medical Sciences and Newcastle Innovations.
Design and deliver innovation activity aligned to strategic priorities.
Translate research into application with measurable economic and societal impact.
Lead or support large bids and business cases with national funding bodies.
Drive contract research and clinical trial activity across partners.
Embed innovation capability across the University through co-creation and design thinking.
