Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Senior Gardener to support a gardening team across Edinburgh’s parks and greenspaces. You will work at either Inch Park Depot or South Gyle Depot, carrying out horticultural and grounds maintenance duties to improve public spaces.

You will assist in training, deputise for Supervisors when needed, and help develop teamwork within your squad, while working in varied locations and weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and skills in horticulture and parks and grounds maintenance.
• SVQ 2 level qualification or evidence of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in training and instruction of gardening staff as required.
• Deputises for Supervisors as required by the Service.
• Support development of team-working within the gardening squad.
• Promote effective team working at all times.
• Undertake horticultural, landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks at various locations.
