Zusammenfassung

Kirklees Council’s Parks and Greenspaces Team is seeking a Senior Gardener to maintain and improve green spaces across the district. You will work with a team on recreation grounds, parks, housing areas and schools, and may supervise staff.

You should have horticultural maintenance skills, ride-on mower experience, driving licence, relevant qualifications, and be prepared for a DBS check and flexible, weatherproof work.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in a similar role with knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
• Ability to communicate positively with members of the public.
• NVQ Level 3 in horticulture or equivalent qualification.
• FEPA Pesticides Application 1 and 6a qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to pass Kirklees Drivers Assessment.
• Willingness to undertake enhanced DBS check.

Aufgaben

• Maintain general green spaces such as recreation grounds, housing areas, parks and schools.
• Prepare winter sports pitches, fine turf and horticultural planting areas.
• Supervise a team of staff and organise workloads to meet deadlines.
• Motivate a team and communicate with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Interpret site plans and work safely with equipment in all weather.

Kenntnisse

Experience in similar role

Horticultural/landscape maintenance

Ride-on mower operation

Full UK driving licence
