Job summary

Amber River Premier in Marlow seeks a Senior Technical Consultant (Senior Paraplanner) to support the Founder/Directors by preparing high-quality, compliant financial recommendations for complex client needs.

You will analyse client data, conduct in-depth research across pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning, produce suitability reports, and work closely with Financial Planners to deliver technically robust advice while maintaining regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Chartered Paraplanner with UK experience or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning.
• Experience preparing complex technical reports for high-net-worth clients.
• Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyse client circumstances, objectives, and attitude to risk
• Conduct detailed research across pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning
• Prepare high-quality suitability reports and recommendation documents
• Provide technical expertise to support advisers on complex cases
• Work closely with Financial Planners to design appropriate client strategies
• Ensure all client files are complete, accurate, and fully compliant
• Support the implementation of advice and maintain smooth client journeys
• Liaise with clients, providers, and professional connections where required
• Maintain accurate client records and audit trails (CRM systems)

Are you a highly experienced and technically strong Paraplanner looking to take your next step in a collaborative, high-performing financial planning team? We're looking for a Senior Technical Consultant to provide expert support to our Founder/Directors within the business.

The Role

As a Senior Technical Consultant (Senior Paraplanner), you will play a pivotal role working alongside our Founder/Director, supporting their clients by preparing high-quality, compliant, and tailored financial recommendations. You'll analyse client data, conduct in-depth research, and produce suitability reports, ensuring every piece of advice is aligned to client goals and regulatory standards. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to complex client cases, attend and actively participate in client meetings as the technical-expert working on financial planning strategies for our key HNW clients.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Advice Delivery

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Chartered Paraplanner within a UK financial advice firm
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning
• Experience working on a technical reports for a range of clients with complex needs
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and analytical skills
• Strong communication and relationship-building ability
• Proficiency in financial planning tools (Curo, Conquest or PlannerPal experience would be advantageous)

Qualifications

Preferred: CII Chartered Status
