Job summary

McLaren Automotive is seeking a senior technician for the paint shop to ensure the highest standards of paint quality and safety across production zones. You will follow detailed process documents, operate within takt, and escalate concerns about quality, cost or productivity to your line manager.

You will also maintain 5S, wear the provided uniform, and work in a safe environment while learning multiple processes to cover for absences and support continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

• Understanding of processes/work instructions to deliver a consistent process.
• Understanding of workplace safety risk assessments and their meaning.
• Ability to make sound and logical decisions.
• Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Proven experience and knowledge within paint application is essential.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow detailed process documents relating to the painting of vehicles.
• Ensure that your station operations on each vehicle are completed within takt and to a high standard.
• Ability to elevate to your leader any concerns that may be affecting the quality, cost or productivity of the panels being painted.
• Ensure 5s within your work area in line with McLaren expectations.
• Maintain standards set such as, using the uniform/ clothing provided.
• Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards is essential. The technician must always adhere to safety protocols.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested by your leader.
• Flexibility with the ability to learn is essential to ensure coverage within the zone as you would be expected to learn multiple processes.
