First Base Employment Ltd in Nuneaton is seeking a Senior Paint Technician to join a busy Paint Shop environment. You will prepare carbon fibre parts and substrates, mask, prime, and apply topcoats to a high standard, ensuring quality checks and compliant waste disposal.

The role offers double day shifts, 37 hours per week, with a salary of £32,000–£39,375 per annum, and requires strong hand skills, attention to detail, and experience in a paint shop or body shop.

• Experience in a paint shop, body shop, or similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience preparing and painting carbon fibre parts is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of preparation processes to achieve a high paint standard.
• Good hand skills and a strong eye for detail.
• Desirable: automotive model development or body shop experience.
• Desirable: industry-standard paint qualification.
• Ability to work confidently, flexibly and to changing requirements.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet customer deadlines.

Mansioni

• Prepare carbon fibre parts and various substrates to a high standard.
• Prepare surfaces and primer ready for topcoat.
• Carry out masking and component preparation prior to painting.
• Colour match to customer samples.
• Select paint suitable for the application.
• Spray primers, coloured base coats, top coats and cosmetic finishes.
• Carry out texturing, tinting and lacquering of components.
• Use filler to address pinholes, voids and shapes.
• Complete quality checks on finished components.
• Produce high-quality parts in line with customer requirements.
• Follow work instructions and maintain quality standards.
• Ensure hazardous and non-hazardous waste is disposed of correctly.
• Assist with additional work, including jigs and parts set-up.
