Job summary

Westmill Foods is seeking a Senior Packaging Technologist for a 12-month fixed term contract based in Trafford Park with a hybrid working model. The role involves leading various projects focused on NPD, cost reduction, and sustainability.

The successful candidate will have strong packaging technology experience and a good understanding of relevant legislation. The position offers a salary ranging from £50,000 to £60,000, along with benefits like an annual incentive plan, cycle to work scheme,

Qualifications

• Strong Packaging Technology experience, including flexible film and corrugate packaging.
• Good understanding of UK and EU food packaging legislation.
• Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects and solve problems pragmatically.
• Strong attention to detail, data analysis and stakeholder management skills.
• Confident building relationships with suppliers and teams across the business.
• A full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel regularly to other business locations.

Responsibilities

• Leading packaging input across NPD, Capex and cost reduction projects.
• Managing packaging specifications, materials, supplier approvals and technical issues.
• Working across multiple departments to deliver packaging improvements.
• Keeping up to date with new materials, technologies and legislation.
• Supporting artwork approval, BOMs, costings, specifications and packaging budget management.
