Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd in Woking, UK, seeks a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead end-to-end packaging and material flow solutions within Logistics. You will implement strategic standards in operations, supporting current business and new programme launches.

This role acts as the technical authority for packaging, owning design governance, budget control and delivery of packaging solutions while representing Packaging in senior forums when required.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education, or equivalent experience, in Engineering, Logistics or related discipline.
• Experience in packaging engineering, material flow or logistics within automotive or manufacturing.
• Proven delivery of packaging solutions in live operations and programme environments.
• Experience managing budgets and working in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, validation and implementation of packaging solutions across the full material flow.
• Govern PFEP data accuracy and packaging loop sizes to demand and constraints.
• Maximise warehouse space utilisation and trailer fill efficiency with cross-functional teams.
• Deliver improvements to reduce waste, cost and handling, ensuring sustainability.
• Own packaging readiness for new model programmes and gateway reviews.
• Act as Packaging representative in cross-functional forums and governance.
• Own and manage packaging budgets and cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership to junior packaging engineers.
• Ensure packaging solutions meet safety, quality and compliance requirements.
