Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a skilled P6 Planner in Birmingham to support a major infrastructure upgrade programme. You will be responsible for developing construction programmes in Primavera P6, leading planning efforts, and collaborating across teams to ensure project delivery meets all requirements. This role requires proven experience in complex infrastructure projects, strong planning skills, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively. Qualifications

• Extensive experience in strategic planning for major infrastructure programmes over £300m.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and related planning tools.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial project drivers.

📍 Birmingham | Hybrid (3–4 days onsite)

Ready to take on a high-profile programme where your planning expertise shapes delivery from day one? Our client is seeking a skilled P6 Planner to support a major upgrade framework in Birmingham - driving programme certainty, construction sequencing, and project performance.

You’ll be a core member of the project team, responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining fully logic-linked construction programmes in Primavera P6
• Leading planning from tender through delivery across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
• Shaping construction methodology, sequencing, and resource strategies
• Ensuring programmes meet all contractual and project requirements
• Embedding strong project controls, forecasting, and progress reporting
• Supporting and mentoring junior planners, driving best practice
• Collaborating closely with design, engineering, and delivery teams to keep milestones on track

🙋 What You Bring

• You’re an experienced, strategic planner with the ability to simplify complexity and engage teams at every level.
• Proven planning experience on major infrastructure programmes (£300m+)
• Advanced Primavera P6 skills (ASTA & 4D planning beneficial)
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial drivers
• Experience spanning the full lifecycle - from pre-construction through delivery
