Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Derby is seeking a P3M Specialist Manager for Project Controls to lead and shape the specialist function within the Submarines business. You will drive earned value management, set standards, and develop capabilities across project teams.

The role requires senior leadership, broad project management experience, and the ability to coach others while delivering results in a highly controlled, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised as an expert in project controls.
• Degree level or equivalent industry experience.
• Specialist experience in earned value management.
• Able to communicate and articulate the specialism clearly.
• Exposure to wider project management processes.
• Ideal EVM Practitioner qualification.
• APM PM qualification or equivalent knowledge.
• Member of a professional body (MAPM/FAPM) and working towards ChPP.
• 7+ years in management of projects/programmes in the specialist area.
• Strong people management and coaching abilities.
• Experience setting up and managing multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects within functional strategy relating to project controls.
• Escalate and manage capabilities and training gaps for project controls.
• Lead development of project controls processes, tools and training.
• Proactively improve supporting processes and performance of project controls.
• Coach and develop others in project controls with expert guidance.
• Lead, coach and manage a team of staff if required.
• Promote the culture and professionalism of project management specialism.
