Job summary

Ips Group, a specialist insurer partner, is seeking a Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter to own a diverse existing business portfolio and manage renewals with premiums from £5,000 to £500,000. You will mentor the team, conduct audits and collaborate with brokers and commercial partners to deliver underwriting excellence.

Qualifications

IPS Group are working closely with a specialist niche Insurer who are looking to hire a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter focusing on existing business risks with premiums ranging up to £500k.

You’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio, managing renewals with premiums ranging from £5,000 to £500,000 and beyond. You’ll handle some of our their most interesting risks and valued customers, ensuring seamless mid-term servicing.

As a Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter, you’ll also play a key part in mentoring and coaching team members, conducting audits, and collaborating with commercial partners. You’ll work closely with various stakeholders and referral points within the business, contributing to a dynamic and high‑performing underwriting team.

You will develop, negotiate, and profitably underwrite existing business caseload within your own authority in line with commercial strategy, delivering underwriting excellence through specialist knowledge and support.

As a Senior Underwriter you will act as referral point for the team providing coaching, training and support for colleagues including supporting lesser experienced members of the team with their broker engagement and Underwriting development.

You will play an active part in the insurance market building and maintaining commercial relationships and developing your own brand as the Underwriter of choice for your Broker partners.
To be considered you will need to have a strong level of property and casualty underwriting experience. Candidates will be considered either currently at Senior level looking for a new challenge or experienced Underwriter level candidates looking for a step up to senior level.
