Job summary

The Actuary is seeking a Senior P&C Reserving Actuary to join our London team. You will lead quarterly reserving analysis and partner with Underwriting, Claims and Finance to provide clear actuarial insight into reserve movements and trends.

The role requires a qualified P&C actuary with extensive reserving experience, preferably with London Market exposure and knowledge of Solvency II, UK/France GAAP, and IFRS 17. You will mentor junior staff and drive actuarial transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified P&C actuary with FIA/FCAS/FIAA or equivalent.
• Significant P&C reserving experience.
• Experience in the London Market or Specialty insurance.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP, French GAAP, Solvency II/UK.
• Experience with IFRS 17.
• Experience analysing and explaining financial impacts and reserve movements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quarterly technical reserving analysis across multiple P&C lines.
• Provide actuarial insight into reserve movements and trends.
• Challenge assumptions with Underwriters and communicate recommendations.
• Support UK/European legal entities with UK GAAP, French GAAP, Solvency II/UK reporting.
• Contribute to annual portfolio reviews and actuarial reporting.
• Support regulatory, audit and governance processes and respond to auditor queries.
• Support actuarial transformation programmes and identify automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with international actuarial, claims, underwriting, finance and risk teams.
• Mentor and support junior actuarial team members.
