Job summary

The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Older Person’s Unit on a fixed term maternity leave basis. This Band 6 role is part-time (22.5 hours per week) based in Guildford, offering exposure to complex discharge planning and large equipment provision.

You will work within a dynamic MDT, supervise Band 5s and contribute to service development while delivering patient-centred care to older adults with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in OT by recognised awarding body.
• Must satisfy the criteria for full membership of the HCPC.
• Driving licence (and use of own car for work purposes).
• An approved Occupational Therapy supervisor for OT/PT degree students.
• Further qualifications/study may be relevant.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients within the Occupational Therapy team in the Older Person’s Unit, with diverse presentations and complex needs.
• Manage your own caseload including assessment, rehabilitation, planning and discharge.
• Support supervision and education of OT students and Band 5s where required.
• Collaborate with a wide MDT and community services to ensure seamless patient care.
