Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Trafford Older Adult CMHT. The role focuses on assessment and intervention for older adults with organic and functional mental health problems, acting as a Care Coordinator within a supportive MDT framework.

The post involves managing a caseload, using evidence-based, client-centred approaches, and contributing to service development.

Qualifications

Registered occupational therapist with current HCPC status.
Experience in older adult mental health settings preferred.
Ability to work within an MDT with carers and families.

Responsibilities

To act as a Care Coordinator and fulfil the requirements of this role.
To support a caseload of older adults with mental health problems, using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and record interventions.
To provide support, assistance, and advice to carers of older adults with mental health problems.
To maintain occupational therapy service standards and contribute to the development of the Trust occupational therapy service as a whole.
To support the Senior Practitioner for Occupational Therapy in the planning, delivery, development, and evaluation of the occupational therapy service.
To provide an occupational therapy perspective in the area of older adult mental health to the MDT, Social Services, and other organisations.
To contribute within the wider MDT in the development of clear care pathways regarding support, care and treatment of older adults with mental health problems.
To undertake the role of Clinical Educator for occupational therapy students on fieldwork placements.
To support and supervise other Occupational Therapists across the service.
