Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Trafford Older Adult CMHT. Qualifications

• Registered occupational therapist with current HCPC status.
• Experience in older adult mental health settings preferred.
• Ability to work within an MDT with carers and families.

Responsibilities

• To act as a Care Coordinator and fulfil the requirements of this role.
• To support a caseload of older adults with mental health problems, using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and record interventions.
• To provide support, assistance, and advice to carers of older adults with mental health problems.
• To maintain occupational therapy service standards and contribute to the development of the Trust occupational therapy service as a whole.
• To support the Senior Practitioner for Occupational Therapy in the planning, delivery, development, and evaluation of the occupational therapy service.
• To provide an occupational therapy perspective in the area of older adult mental health to the MDT, Social Services, and other organisations.
• To contribute within the wider MDT in the development of clear care pathways regarding support, care and treatment of older adults with mental health problems.
• To undertake the role of Clinical Educator for occupational therapy students on fieldwork placements.
• To support and supervise other Occupational Therapists across the service.
