Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Orthotist to deliver advanced orthotics assessment, advice, and treatment, leading in complex cases and service development. You will supervise staff, contribute to audits, and work across sites to meet 18-week targets.

You will collaborate with consultants and MSK leads, driving research and evidence-based practice while ensuring high-quality patient care and staff development within the orthotics service.

Qualifications

Essential HCPC registration and CPD including recent postgraduate training
Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration
A Levels or equivalent qualification
Evidence of CPD including recent postgraduate training relevant to clinical speciality

Responsibilities

Lead within the Orthotics Team under the MSK Therapy Lead.
Provide specialist assessment, treatment and management of patients with complex presentations.
Manage diverse caseload balancing service delivery and patient needs.
Lead evidence-based audit, research and service improvement activities.
Communicate effectively with patients, carers, teams and external agencies.
Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, appraisal and staff development.
