Job summary

The London Clinic is seeking a Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner to join our Orthopaedic Theatres team. You will lead Scrub activities for complex orthopedic procedures, support surgeons, and mentor junior staff in a busy private hospital setting.

This role requires strong orthopaedic scrub experience, Band 6 theatre experience, and excellent communication to maintain patient safety and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current NMC or HCPC registration.
• Significant post registration experience in theatres.
• Band 6 level experience within operating theatres.
• Strong orthopaedic scrub experience.
• Experience mentoring and supporting colleagues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient safety and outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Scrub Practitioner for complex orthopaedic procedures.
• Support surgeons and undertake Surgical First Assistant duties if qualified.
• Coordinate theatre activities to ensure safe and efficient lists.
• Monitor equipment, implants and consumables.
• Mentor junior theatre staff and promote best practice.
• Contribute to service improvements and audits.
• Support Theatre Leadership with day-to-day departmental management.
• Maintain high standards of perioperative patient care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams.
