The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham is recruiting a Senior Clinical Fellow for Oncology and Complex Arthroplasty. You will provide consultant-level clinical cover for orthopaedic oncology and complex joint reconstruction, supporting clinics and operating sessions, and managing inpatients with oncology and arthroplasty needs.

Qualificações

• FRCS (Orthopaedic) or equivalent higher surgical qualification.
• GMC registration with a valid licence to practise.
• Appropriate UK professional registration.
• Experience in orthopaedic oncology and joint replacement.
• Competence in managing hip and knee conditions.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of clinical audit and research principles.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality care and professional development.
• DBS checks completed as required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide consultant-level clinical cover for orthopaedic oncology sessions and inpatient care for oncology and arthroplasty patients.
• Support consultant-led orthopaedic oncology clinics and operating sessions.
• Manage inpatients with orthopaedic oncology conditions and complex joint replacement needs.
• Assess and manage patients with hip and knee conditions.
• Work collaboratively with consultants and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Teach and advise medical students during oncology placements.
• Participate in the hospital’s clinical audit programme.
• Contribute to clinical research and audit projects through designated sessions.
• Apply clinical standards and audit requirements of the Trust and the Royal College of Surgeons.
• Work with different consultants across the service to gain broad specialist experience.
• Participate in regular performance reviews and professional development activities.
