Job summary

Atmos, part of the Adler & Allan Group, seeks a Senior Ornithologist to lead ornithological surveys and ecological projects within its growing Ecology team. You will mentor colleagues, deliver high-quality reports, and provide client-facing ecological advice across a diverse project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in ornithological surveying and ecological consultancy.
• Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and ecological impact assessment.
• Proven ability to manage ecological projects and client relationships.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Confidence leading field surveys, site meetings and stakeholder discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, planning and delivery of ornithological and ecological surveys.
• Prepare and review high-quality technical reports (baseline assessments, EcIA, mitigation, compliance).
• Provide specialist ornithological expertise across the business.
• Deliver site-based support including ECoW services where required.
• Manage medium to large-scale ecological projects from inception to completion.
• Act as primary contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors within budget and schedule.
