Job summary

Atmos Consulting Ltd in Mold (North Wales) is seeking a Senior Ecologist / Ornithologist with 3+ years of experience to deliver ecological surveys and reporting across renewable energy and nature-based projects.

You will collaborate with ecology colleagues and other disciplines to manage surveys, engage with clients, and mentor junior staff while following professional codes of conduct.

Qualifications

• A BSc or MSc in a relevant subject, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
• Full member of CIEEM; protected species licences advantageous.
• Strong field experience with ambitions to develop technical skills.
• Ability to work on site with contractors and client staff.
• Fully conversant with UK legislation and guidance for habitat surveys and ECoW.
• Robust project management skills with budgeting and scheduling.
• Excellent report writing and client advisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Scoping and Project Management of a range of small to large ecological projects.
• On-site support during construction phases of projects.
• Planning and managing ecological surveys using various methods.
• Negotiating with statutory agencies, NGOs and stakeholders.
• Authoring Ecological Impact Assessments and reports.
• Building relationships with existing and new clients; supporting business development.
• Mentoring junior team members and adhering to professional codes.
