Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking an experienced Organisation Development Senior Practitioner to support transformation, leadership, culture and workforce capability across the council. This role offers a hybrid working pattern and a chance to influence how the council develops its people and services for the benefit of residents.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and partner to senior leaders across the Council, helping identify organisational challenges, opportunities and priorities, and providing expert advice on leadership, culture, organisation design and change to support organisational effectiveness and performance.
  • Support services through periods of change, helping leaders and employees understand, adopt and embed new ways of working.
  • Work on a varied and rewarding portfolio of organisation-wide priorities, supporting leaders and teams through change and helping shape interventions that improve organisational effectiveness and deliver better outcomes for residents.
  • Champion inclusive and evidence-based approaches to organisation development, ensuring all interventions support positive employee experience and organisational performance.

Nottinghamshire County Council are looking for experienced Organisation Development professionals who enjoy helping organisations tackle complex challenges and improve how they work. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our organisational improvement journey, working on high-profile priorities that have a real and lasting impact on our workforce, services and communities.

Joining a newly formed Workforce and Organisation Development (OD) function, you'll work with leaders and teams across the Council to support organisational change, strengthen leadership, improve culture and help shape the future direction of the organisation.

Role background

This is a rare opportunity to join Nottinghamshire County Council at a pivotal point in our organisational journey. The next few years will bring significant change as we implement an ambitious programme of transformation and service improvement.

In response, we are establishing a new Workforce and Organisation Development (WOD) function that will play a critical role in helping the organisation adapt, strengthen leadership and culture, develop workforce capability, and successfully navigate organisational change.
