Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust's Ophthalmology Department invites a Senior Clinical Fellow to join a friendly, consultant-led team. The post is a fixed-term, 1-year position, requiring full training in General Ophthalmology and a postgraduate Ophthalmic qualification (FRCOphth or equivalent).

The successful candidate will participate in inpatient and outpatient clinics, contribute to out-of-hours rotas, and have opportunities in specialty theatres.

Qualifications

• Fully trained in General Ophthalmology.
• Postgraduate Ophthalmic qualification (FRCOphth or equivalent).
• GMC registered and NHS experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient ophthalmology services under consultant supervision.
• Contribute to the on-call/out-of-hours rota.
• Participate in theatres, clinics and MDT meetings.
• Support teaching and junior colleagues effectively.
• Contribute to Quality & Improvement Projects within the department.
