Senior Operations Manager - Top Tier Company

VANRATH is assisting with the recruitment of a Senior Operations Manager for a major multi-billion pound company operating globally in the Energy Sector.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, based in Belfast (North Belfast).

Responsibilities:

The Senior Operations Manager plays a strategic leadership role within the construction business, overseeing multiple projects or operational areas to ensure timely, within-budget delivery, and adherence to high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities include managing site teams, coordinating with commercial and technical departments, maintaining client relationships, ensuring resource efficiency, regulatory compliance, and aligning with business objectives. This role is key to driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across construction projects.

  1. Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple construction sites and contracts.
  2. Lead and manage Project and Site Managers to deliver quality, cost, and time standards.
  3. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  4. Collaborate with Commercial, Design, and Planning teams for cohesive project delivery.
  5. Manage team performance and development, including succession planning and talent growth.
  6. Act as a senior contact for clients, partners, and subcontractors, maintaining strong relationships.
  7. Oversee mobilisation of new projects, including programming, logistics, and resource planning.
  8. Monitor KPIs and use data to improve performance and identify areas for improvement.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a senior operational role within UK construction (residential, commercial, or social housing preferred).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing multi-site teams.
  • Deep knowledge of UK building regulations, health & safety legislation, and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L responsibilities.
