Job summary

Dowds is seeking an Operations Manager to join our delivery team, overseeing multiple MEP projects across the full project life cycle. You will ensure safety, quality, programme, and budget are aligned while driving improvements in standards and ways of working.

You will lead senior teams, manage resources and budgets, and act as the main liaison between clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to resolve delivery challenges.

Qualifications

• Proven experience overseeing operational delivery, including cost control, programme, quality, and resource allocation across projects.
• Experience managing budgets, cost forecasts, and commercial risk, with accountability for operational performance.
• Strong leadership capability to drive performance, manage conflict, and influence at multiple levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior operational leadership across multiple MEP projects, ensuring design coordination, installation, commissioning, and handover activities meet safety, programme, and quality standards.
• Drive delivery through improvements of standards, systems, and ways of working across the delivery portfolio.
• Champion MMC, including off‑site fabrication, modularisation, and digital delivery to improve safety, quality, productivity, and certainty.
• Maintain accountability for project delivery and compliance, with robust reporting against KPIs.
• Oversee financial and resource performance across allocated projects.
• Lead health, safety and environmental culture and drive improvements across projects.
• Provide leadership and mentorship within the operational function.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, and supply chain to resolve delivery/interface issues.
• Support pre-construction to influence buildability, programme strategy, procurement, and supply chain appointments.
