Job summary

South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) is seeking a Head of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across a large locality within Kent, Surrey, Sussex and North East Hampshire. You will be accountable for performance, workforce planning, financial stewardship and major transformation programmes to ensure safe, effective and responsive urgent and emergency care.

You will lead diverse, dispersed teams, develop strong partnerships with system colleagues

Qualifications

• Educated to Master’s level or equivalent senior experience.
• Postgraduate diploma or equivalent with CPD.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership to operational managers and frontline teams.
• Deliver performance against service, quality, workforce and financial targets.
• Lead planning, implementation and evaluation of operational and transformational programmes.
• Ensure governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across the locality.
• Develop collaborative relationships with partner organisations and system leaders to improve patient pathways and service delivery.
• Lead on business continuity, emergency preparedness and organisational resilience within the locality.
• Monitor financial performance and resource utilisation.
• Support the development of future leaders through coaching and mentoring.
• Contribute to Trust-wide strategic objectives as a member of the senior leadership team.
