Job Description:

Due to our continued success in work winning, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operational SHEQ Manager based across the UK. You will manage safety, health, environmental, and quality matters within OCU Energy and the wider OCU Group, providing professional advice and ensuring compliance with requirements and best practices.

This role covers various OCU Energy business units, including OCU Hornbill, OCU Integrum, OCU Modus, OCU Trenchless, OCU Evolution, and OCU Energy Major Projects. You will engage with personnel at all levels to develop and implement SHEQ best practices, ensuring compliance with statutory provisions, group requirements, and industry standards. You will work proactively to establish a safe working environment for all staff and third parties.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the principal SHEQ contact for assigned business units.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with management during project mobilization, construction, and post-construction phases.
  • Identify SHEQ resource needs, assist in sourcing and onboarding candidates.
  • Manage dedicated SHEQ personnel and liaise with regional support.
  • Support pre-qualification questionnaires and tender submissions.
  • Provide leadership and promote the OCU brand and core requirements.
  • Assist in planning and promoting SHEQ programs and maintaining ISO accreditation.
  • Interpret and advise on company policies and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure compliance with the Group's Integrated Management System on contracts/projects.
  • Monitor SHEQ performance and implement improvements.
  • Develop data reporting mechanisms and compile SHEQ dashboards and KPIs.
  • Conduct site, depot, and CDM audits, managing findings and actions.
  • Ensure projects have appropriate SHEQ arrangements and controls.
  • Engage with customers, attend meetings, and deliver presentations.
  • Conduct contractor onboarding evaluations.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, proposing preventative measures.

  • Experience with DNO/IDNOs.
  • EUSR or CSCS certification in health and safety.
  • Proficient in accident/incident investigation and RCA.
  • Skilled in compiling documented information and data.
