Job summary

Skipton Building Society is looking for a Senior Operations Risk Specialist to provide second line oversight across the operational risk landscape. You will challenge and assure risk management frameworks and deliver insightful reporting across technology and People risk.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, strengthen governance, and support continuous improvement of risk controls to help the Society meet regulatory expectations and protect members’ interests.

Qualifications

• Experience in Risk, Compliance, Audit or Control within a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of operational risk taxonomy and regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to deliver risk analysis, reporting, assurance reviews and control assessments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with the confidence to challenge.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills with collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted operational risk partner, guiding stakeholders across the business.
• Deliver risk-based reviews and assurance activities evaluating controls.
• Produce insightful risk reporting, identify themes and improvement opportunities.
• Provide second line oversight across risk landscape from technology to People risk.
• Support enhancement of the risk framework and governance processes.
