Ministry of Justice in Brighton is seeking a Senior Operational Support Manager to provide strategic support to the Head of LDU Cluster within the National Probation Service. You will be deployed to a variety of roles, representing the NPS with external agencies and staff while upholding confidentiality.

Competenze

• Experience in probation or public sector leadership is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and governance experience.
• Ability to lead and develop teams under pressure.

Mansioni

• Cluster operational lead on caseload segmentation issues such as Child Sexual Exploitation, Guns and Gangs, Integrated Offender Management etc.
• Operational support to the Head of Cluster within Probation Instruction criteria and rules (Recall, High Risk of Serious Harm Case Transfers, etc).
• Support to the Head of Cluster with grievance, discipline, capability, complaints and related processes.
• Professional development of cluster staff.
• Developing and deploying the Cluster Training Needs Analysis.
• Recruitment and induction of cluster employees.
• Lead for performance and quality within the cluster.
• Lead for audits and inspections within the cluster.
• Assist in reviews and action plans (Domestic Homicides, Serious Further Reviews, Serious Case Reviews).
• Manage the Business Manager and administrative support within the cluster.
• Represent the NPS in local strategic partnerships and wider frameworks.
• Participate in MAPPA locally and chair level 3 meetings as needed.
• Make decisions in the Head of LDU Cluster’s absence regarding offender management when authorized.
• Lead on divisional or cluster projects including Equality and Diversity, Reward and Recognition, etc.
• Ensure cluster compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
• Senior management responsibility for estates, buildings and maintenance within the cluster.
• Demonstrate pro-social modelling and challenge anti-social behaviour.
• Carry out safeguarding duties for children and adults as per NPS policies.
• Align with the aims and values of NPS and HMPPS.
